Mission Statement

Our mission at Modern Mermaids LLC is to increase the awareness of the serious effects of toxic chemicals in our daily lives through dedication, education and a little humor. By offering ideas and alternatives, we hope to initiate change for the future health of humans, animals and our beautiful planet.

Leaf vs. Lab

Chemical and synthetic-based fragrances are usually manufactured to duplicate a certain scent that already comes from nature but is less expensive to produce. We've known for years that the ingredients used in synthetic and chemical fragrances are derived from petroleum and include many carcinogenic materials. Many of these chemicals can have adverse side effects including cancer, birth defects, headaches and dizziness.
